Delhi Daredevils has brought Marlon Samuels as a substitute for the injured of wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock, who was ruled out of the Indian Premier League to his right index finger.
Samuels is likely to join the team Delhi Daredevils squad on Saturday, April 29. He was among the players who were unsold in the IPL auction this season tenth, with a base price of 100 lakhs INR.
He played in the Indian Premier League for Pune Warriors over four years ago in 2013. In 2012, he has played eight matches scoring a total of 124 runs and took eight wickets. He characteristic in 2013 just only two matches, with scores of 5 and 3 and also only one wicket.
His T20 record is more inspiring though. In 149 matches since his first in 2016, he scored 3757 runs at an average of 32.66 and strike rate of 117.51. He took 68 wickets with and an economy rate of 7.01.
Delhi Daredevils currently won two matches out of six matches and placed second from bottom. Daredevil’s next match will play on Friday against topper point Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.
This season in IPL 10 Delhi Daredevils has one best bowling attacker, their batting has cost them a few matches so far. Not one of their batsmen features among the top 10 run-scorers, this season they will further lose overseas recruits Sam Billings and Chris Morris in the coming weeks.
Samuels’ inclusion is likely to beef up an inexperienced batting line-up that features domestic batsmen such as Shreyas Iyer, Karun Nair, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson and Aditya Tare.
