Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) captain Steve Smith was handed over the captaincy of the tenth season in the Indian Premier League. The RPS management feels that they need to change of guard at the franchise after MS Dhoni stepped down as captaincy of India’s limited-overs cricket teams.
The decision shocked by not only fans but also the cricket-loving people around the globe. This tenth edition of the Indian Premier League 2017 is the first for Dhoni not leading the team, but his knowledge of a decade of leadership will remain always for Pune team.
It was displayed when RPS team captain Smith rushed to Dhoni for advice ahead of the last final over match against Mumbai Indians. Dhoni was seen giving some advice to Smith with Ajinkya Rahane. Dhoni has the experience to take many key decisions during high-pressure at the international level and was himself seen his calm self as he busy with Smith.
RPS captain Smith said about the IPL season tenth league, “I have plenty of guys to talk to, but I will not seek too many opinions. Seeking too many opinions can cloud your own judgment. I want to try and stay as clear as possible. But yes, if someone sees something and feels the need to point it out to me, they are more than welcome.”
Rising Pune Supergiants defeated Mumbai Indians by 3-runs victory on Monday. Defending 24 off the last 12 balls, Stokes bowled an inexpensive penultimate over and conceded just only seven runs.
Jaydev Unadkat bowling the last over dismissed Hardik Pandya with his first delivery, but Rohit smashed the ball for a six to bring the level to 11 from 4 balls.
