Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) pace bowler said after morale-boosting three runs win against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League their team confidence injected into their match.
Unadkat bowls help RPS by taking key wickets to Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma when they needed 17 runs in the final overs to chase a target of 161 runs.
When asked by IPL’s official website on Tuesday, RPS pace bowler Unadkat said “It was a much-needed win for us. We were on a winning streak as well, so this will boost our momentum.”
“To beat MI at the Wankhede is a huge confidence boost for the side. We did well as a unit and that was the most important factor. We bowled in partnerships and took wickets. I am really happy for my team and myself,” added Unadkat.
Ben Stokes, who receives man-of-the-match, placed a fine show in the field to motivate his team RPS to an unforgettable victory.
Unadkat said about Stokes fine performance under immense pressure, “Ben Stokes set the game up for me with a brilliant 19th over. The plans were simple and we had talked about them in the meeting. Smithy [Steve Smith] wanted us to bowl to our strength.”
“We stuck to our plans. When you back yourself to do well on a surface where the ball was gripping a bit and there was some help for the bowlers, you always end up on a winning note.”
Unadkat said about Rohit shuffled across the stumps, “That was a close call but he [Rohit] was shuffling a bit on the off side as well. I think in a game like this where everything is there for the batsman, there has to be something for the bowlers as well and that was one moment that went right for me.”
He added, “It was really important for me to stick to the catch as Rohit was batting really well and he had hit me for a six on the previous ball. If I had dropped the catch, it would’ve been two runs.”
“I was hoping that the ball sticks and I kept my eyes on the ball. If you do the processes right, the results happen for you.”
