Zimbabwe Vs Afghanistan: Afghanistan Team Successfully Grab The ODI Trophy

On Sunday, Afghanistan finished their ODI tour of  Zimbabwe (2016/17 season) which played at Harare Sports Club.

That match was the deciding one for both teams. Because before that match the series was level by 2-2. From the two captain’s point of view, Toss was very crucial. Luckily Afghanistan Captain won the toss and elected to bat first.

There is no change for Zimbabwe team, where Afghanistan had lots of change. For Afghanistan team, Noor Ali, N Zadran, D Zadran and H Hotak comes in place of K Janet, H Shaidi, Fareed, and Ihsanullah.

Noor Ali took the belief of Captains hope. He scored 46 runs from 49 ball which was the third highest run for Afghanistan innings. At the end of the first innings, Afghanistan reached 253 runs and 5.06 runs per over.

That means Zimbabwe took a target from Afghanistan of 254. However, that day was not Zimbabwe’s day. After the first innings rain came and washed the full ground.

Then due to bad weather, D/L method was applied, and that match was reduced to 22 over for the second innings. According to D/L method, Zimbabwe’s target was 161 runs (that means run rate was almost near about seven runs per over).

Unfortunately, Zimbabwe only manages to run only 54 runs (all out).

With that win, Afghanistan won the five-match series by 3-2.

Rahmat Shah (Afghanistan) selected for the man of the match.

According to the source, the commentator said, “With that Afghanistan takes the series. Zimbabwe has been outclassed and outplayed, after being rolled over for 54. Only two batsmen managed double figures. A Hamza was the peak of the bowlers with 3 for 20 in 4 overs. Man of the Match is Rahmat Shah for his fifty.”
