Indian cricket player Mohammed Shami is going to miss out of the upcoming ODI and T20I series which is likely to play against England team, starting on 15 January.
The 26-years-old cricket player will miss out of the Indian Test squad after the injury on his right knee while playing a third Test match against England at Visakhapatnam.
The UP-born Bengal pacer will be missing out playing ODI and T20I series at least for a month due to injury. Shami has had an injury-prone international career so far. Mohammed has used up more time getting better or nursing injuries than playing cricket.
Previous ODI he had played in the semi-final of World Cup 2015 against Australia in Sydney. Indian team lost that game after winning six consecutive matches.
As per the reports, Ishant Sharma will be given a chance playing in the Indian team in place of Shami’s, who own injury in right knee, whereas expert seamer Ashish Nehra is also in the contention for the limited-overs’ series.
Ashish had a striking in 2016 however he missed out the ODI rubber against New Zealand due to owing injury. Indian team is going through a flurry of injuries since many players ruled out of Squad during England series.
The Indian cricket team opener Rohit Sharma is also going to miss the ODI series against England. In the absence of Rohit’s, Shikhar Dhawan will be in India squad. While Karun Nair, the triple centurion in Chennai Test, may also get a place in the India squad.
Nair completes his ODI debut on India’s tour of Zimbabwe. However, he had an unmemorable outing back then. His teammate, KL Rahul who smashes 199 at Chennai, might also get chances as an opener.
India is going to play 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs against England. Skipper MS Dhoni will be leading the team after a break of two months.
