Parthiv Patel is ready to play the fourth Test series against England which will start soon on 8th December in Mumbai. Patel is going to recover in place of India wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha, who got injured in the left thigh.
Patel makes an impressed with scores of 42 and 67 in his return Test in Mohali after eight years, again got a chance to make impress the team management. Secretary of BCCI Ajay Shirke stated in a release that “Parthiv Patel will continue to be part of the Indian Test team for the 4th Test of the five-match Paytm Test Series to be held in Mumbai from December 8, 2016.”
BCCi secretary Ajay Shiirke said about Saha, who got injured left thigh while playing the second Test at Visakhapatnam. “The BCCI medical team has confirmed that wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha is still recuperating from the strain in his left thigh, which he sustained during the second Test match at Vizag.”
“As a precautionary measure, Saha has been advised rest. The BCCI medical team is monitoring the wicketkeeper batsman’s progress.”
Meanwhile, Delhi seamer Ishant Sharma, who has been a part of the squad for third test series have released for his wedding.
After winning second and third Test series by 246 runs and eight wickets, India has led the five-Test series against England 2-0 correspondingly.
Expected Parthiv Patel in Mumbai Test series
In the first innings at Mohali, Parthiv Patel has missed eight runs to make half-century at 42 runs from 67. Because of his development as an opener in Mohali, Patel might have to stay for a place in the middle order if KL Rahul gets well in time for Mumbai Test.
